Scouts uses the Online Scout Manager system (OSM) to organise the data on the scouts it supports. It is a secure database that together we populate with relevant personal information that allows us to provide the right support to the young people in our care.

Example of the information we hold in it are:

  • Personal details including emergency and parental contact details, medical details, allergies, swimming ability, religious considerations and media (e.g. social media) consents.
  • Payments – your subs bank details
  • Your Gift aid preferences so that we can maximise our income
  • The Programme on offer for the term ahead
  • The details of forthcoming events
  • A noticeboard of section information.
  • Badge progress for your Scout

It is really important to us therefore that parents and carers take the time every month or two to visit the details held on their young person to make sure they are up to date and to see what is going on.

How to Use OSM

When your young person joins the Group, we will send you an email to your chosen email address with a unique link to your child’s record. Please click on the link and follow the instructions to access OSM, and immediately add and update any information that is missing or incorrect.
